Bangkok trip 2014 Day 2

Continued my previous post  : Bangkok trip day 1
Wake up not so early at around 8.45am
And of course had our breakie as breakfast which already included once we booked our hotel
So... Not so much choices plus there's a lots hotel guests out there
Food gone finished very fast and they can't make refill in time
So these is what i can get
Anyway as long as I got something to eat and gain some energy from food
In order to manage my whole day shopping schedule at superb huge well known market- chatuchak

Seriously the thai beehoon quite nice
Actually got fried egg and sausages but din take the photo..
Simple breakfast provided
No hiam la.. Since the stay price so reasonable already...

As u can check how big the chatuchak market is,
So if u lazy to read the details
I simplified the details into one sentence
It's one of the world largest market which divided into 27 sections and with 8000 market stalls!
How big and how to shop like that!

How to get to chatuchak market;
SkyTrain BTS :get off at Sapan Khwai Station or Mochit Station MRT get off at Kamphaenpetch Station
Bus No3,826,27,28,29,34,38,39,44,52,59,63,77,90,96,104,408,112,122, 134,136,138,153,159

Aircondition Bus No 2,3,9,18,19,28,34,39,44,134,145,153,510,512,513

First, it's very crowed and packed place
There must be very hot so make sure you don't wear long sleeve or long pants
Wear lesser is better cox it's so hot inside

Because of the hot weather and crowed situation had magnified my craving towards something cold
Here's the famous coconut ice cream..
Must try food list #coconut ice cream

At some art area I found this
Really OMG one!

There's a lot a lot a lot and a lot of items selling there!
Artistic pieces like paintings, handmade souvenirs, antiques, home deco, amulets...
clothings, foods, books, Bla bla bla all you can find over there lah
Anything you can think of, u can find over there... Haha ( kua1 zhang1 dao4~)
But make sure u check out the actual map there
To know where is the division of the places you want to go before you end up walking around at the same section which selling the same stuffs
and you get frustrated with the same things then you end up complaining HOT and buy nothing
Please refer to this MAP of chatuchak market :

If you get lost in the market, no worry!
You won't be the only one get lost in there
Everyone who first time entered the places sure get lost one
And I bet NO ONE can finished shopped every part of the market

For me, I skipped quite a lot of division and just go through part of it
It's too hot and I get so sweaty so I decided to go JJ Mall to have a look and rest
JJ mall considered as air-cond version of  chatuchak market
This is because the things sold here nearly same as those in chatuchak market
(as told by previous tour guide during my last tour to BKK)

I think the price of course will be slightly different!
But shopping walking in JJ mall is much more comfortable la..

After a whole morning walks, we decided to have late lunch in this restaurant named Jeffer

Those pictures actually look nice
They offer combination of different meats ( chicken chop, lamb chop, pork chop, sausages, beef chop, fish fillet)
Can choose Any two of the above with a real fair price
U may order in ala carte too!

So I get myself a lunch set with soup of the day, dessert, a drink, a main course at about RM 28plus (if not mistaken)
Mushroom soup is nice when it served in warm

Main course tasted good too! Can recommend **

Rashberry cheese cake! Personally not so fancy with cheesy thing
And it serve in freezed, the cake is very hard
Don't like. But overall service is good.

Despite on we are running out of time;
So we decided take BTS off to next destination, Asiatique
instead of back to hotel to put the things we bought from the market
End up carry those things on hand running here and there all the way at BTS

While arrived at jetty........I saw....
VERY LONG QUEUE!
Why I read those blogs out there NO ONE tell me there will be a long queue for the boat?!

Yea, I always surveyed and do revision before I visit the place.
I get some info telling that there got FREE shuttle to Asiatique
But make sure you got into the right boat!
Follow the instruction or notice hanging up there
End up the free shuttle need queue up for a real long time.
It took me about 20 -25 mins to queue for my turn.

So after long hour shopping at chatuchak market and JJ mall
Queuing up is really torturing me!
But what to do..there're too many tourists there queuing up too!

Everyone squeeze onto the boat as possible in order to avoid to wait for another shuttle
until there's not enough seats but have to stand & squeeze like sardine on the boat
So, i am the one standing too.
Can see how crowd is, until a lady who carry a little baby also can't get a seat
=.=||

Anyway, the route take about 10-15 mins to arrive our destination : Asiatique
A very unique and crowed places + attractive scenes & pretty lighting

signature tourist style photo taken with the ferris wheel, one of the Bangkok Landmark

More pretty nice scenes ....
Asiatique is well known as open air night market in Thailand
there's variety activities like shopping , beer-ing/ wine-ing, exhibition or events etc,
a pretty busy-like market
while certain bistro/ restaurants offering relaxing environment with soft songs and wine.

More photos...Asiatique, the riverfront

Spotted a christmas tree

I think this is one of the tactics to promoting their burgers

Ahh, yes before you get lost please refer / do revision
Asiatique also divided into certain divisions
Of course if compared to chatuchak market..
this is just a piece of cake for sure. Won't get lost because.......

when you look up to the building,
there will have numerals which indicates the location also..
like this area is number 6, which is near to town square

At town square, there's a piece of empty land
where there's many lockers locked on the fencing

the town square , the tower

OPPO exhibition held

But the snow man attract me more.

Actually the building design and decorations over there quite unique
like this special designed phone booth..

Mekhong, the ferris wheel.
Actually i dunno what is the meaning of "Mekhong" =P

I read from lung hei's blog
She get 250Baht ticket per pax, why mine is 300 baht ???
They increased price already??

Anyway, once in a lifetime,
decided to take it since the price is quite affordable (compared to Singapore's and London eye)
selfie with the ferris wheel while waiting for my turn

inside the spacious "room" , I can see the activity down there
A car show

Bangkok view from the top view

Scene of Asiatique markets with the numeral buildings..

Heading to car show
Here's another view of ferris wheel

Big elephant statue
the "chang" is a brand of  local beer

side view of the gorgeous ferris wheel...

tiffany color / mint color cars in a row
which one is your preference?

Hmm... Are you sure this car can run on road? =D

Woofers overload...
Boom.. boom.. boom...

I like this Honda!
What a sexy ass!

I like the lights!
so sharply attractive!

Got Muay Thai Show...
But i'm not interested..

when it reach the time to filling our stomach..
We decided to have late dinner at MK steamboats
Too bad, most of the restaurant full house. We need to queue and take number

Finally.....
we get into the restaurant, and order a little food..
Why a little only?
Haha.. it's our last day in Thailand and we left Not much Thai baht
So, to save and for safe, we ordered as much as we can pay.
Plus, we are not so hungry yet (just want to sit and rest actually)

I ordered coconut ice cream
quite disappointed because it doesnt taste like the one in market
and slightly different with the one i tried last time in BKK's MK restaurant

the soup base quite tasteless too.
BUT i fall in love with their sauces provided!
Just dipped my fishballs/ needle mushroom with the sauce will be really great taste

After late dinner we decided to back hotel to pack up our luggage
our flight depart from BKK is about 6.30am the next day
that means we need to awake at about 3.45 and take a taxi to airport
what a tiring schedule!

Leaving Asiatique... and took a picture of pretty asiatique before leaving
The scene will be remebered
I've been there, Asiatique, the riverfront

We actually booked a taxi and remind him to come to hotel to pick us at 4.15am
BUT he din't appear!
I bet he dont understand english or what.. so we called him to see whether he's on his way
but he din't answer!
Despite on this situation, we look around the hotel and found a taxi just next to the hotel
since it's real early in the morning,
we scared there's extra charges or what so we ask for the price before get into taxi
quite surprise, it's much more cheaper than our previous ride (airport to hotel)
only 350 baht!! add on 25 baht for toll
overall 375 baht for one way! compared to 500 baht last time...
Next time must beware of such bloody money sucking taxi driver.

And, the taxi driver so nice give us one bottle water each..
and he so friendly want to chat with us with his super broken english
He tried hardly to cheer with us, interact with us..
eventhou his english not good. But i'm heartly thanks him for being such good driver
(compared to the one we met  during our way from airport to bkk)
definitely different attitude what
Morning, Survarnabhumi airport!

With snoopy at siam centre
(Miss out this pic in previous post and since the snoopy look good here so I wanted to post out)

My real short escape end here
Very fruitful trip
(Doesn't mean I shop a lot but I gain more experience in being touristy thingy especially daily schedule planning )

Will visit Thailand again for 3rd and 4th times in future ( not planing yet)
Too much places to be visit
Hua Hin, Phuket ........

But other places first >.<
